Story Of The Monkey King ~ Jatak Tales In English
Thousands of years ago there lived a wise monkey in a forest. He was also the king of the thousand monkeys. One day, while jumping and jumping in the forest, he and his companions reached a place near which there was no water anywhere. Seeing the young monkeys and their mothers suffering from thirst in the new place and new environment, he immediately ordered his followers to find a source of water.
After some time, they found a water body. Seeing the eagerness of the thirsty monkeys to quench their thirst by jumping into the reservoir, the king of monkeys warned them to stop, as they were unaware of the new place. Therefore, along with his followers, he did a subtle inspection and examination of the reservoir and its banks. After some time, he saw some such footprints which were oriented to the reservoir but did not return outside the reservoir. The intelligent monkey immediately concluded that the reservoir was definitely inhabited by some dangerous demon-like creature. All the monkeys got disheartened after getting the information about the monster's residence in the reservoir. Then the wise monkey encouraged them by saying that they could still quench their thirst from the monster's reservoir because there were cane forests around the reservoir, breaking which, they could sip water from their hose. All the monkeys did the same and quenched their thirst.
The demon living in the reservoir kept watching them, but
because his power was limited to the reservoir, he could not harm those
monkeys. After quenching their thirst, all the monkeys returned to their
forest.
