Today I am going to share the Story of Akbar and Virbal. In this story, King Akbar organized a tournament where people had to stay in a pool filled with cold water during winter months. An old man named Budo won the competition by sitting and looking at a lamp on a hill. The king accused Budo of cheating and punished him. Virbal, the king's intelligent minister, came up with a plan to teach the king a lesson. He made the king wait for him during an important meeting and then showed him how he cooked rice using a pot soaked in rice by using the heat from the fire below the ground. The king finally understood his mistake and awarded Budo an additional reward.
Story of Akbar and Virbal
There was a king named Akbar in a country. One of his ministers was very clever and intelligent. His name was Virbal. King Akbar used to ask Virbal before taking any big decision.
During the winter months, the King organized a tournament. The competition was to stay for a long time in a pool filled with cold water during the winter months. The one who could stay the longest would be declared the winner and would also receive a big prize.
About this competition spread all over the state. The day of the competition also came. Many people participated in it and tried to stay in the water for a long time. But due to the winter months, the sun was not shining and the water was very cold. How many people came out as soon as they went to the pool.
Slowly people started to come out and finally an old man became the winner. The next day, the old man was called to the palace to give the award. The prizes were many. Gold, silver, diamonds were all there. The old man was also very happy to see the award.
Before awarding the award, Akbar questioned that Budo in front of the Raj Sabha.
"You are too old. However, you left behind even the young men. What is the secret of being able to stay in that cold pool for so long?"
Budo replied, "As soon as your majesty went to the pool, I felt as if I would pass out because of the cold, but later I sat looking at the light on the hill."
King Akbar was a very stupid king. After hearing such an answer, Akbar felt that he had been tricked by that old man and assumed that the honor of the competition from the royal court was on the ground.
Akbar said, "Anyone can sit in the pool by looking at the lamp and taking its heat." You cheated in this contest that was held by me. You don't get this award. On the contrary, you will be punished for making fools of us."
And the soldier caught that old man and locked him up. Seeing this, Virbal was very upset and started thinking of a way to teach the king that this is wrong.
One day there was a meeting of the Raj Sabha. All the ministers and other officials arrived. But Virbal did not come. Even after a long time, Birbal did not come, so King Akbar sent his soldiers to Birbal.
Virbal was cooking when the soldier arrived. Birbal replied that the soldier wanted the king to call Birbar.
"I haven't eaten yet. As soon as it's ready, I'll come and eat."
The soldier returned with the same message. After receiving that message, the king ordered the assembly to give time to Birbal.
But even after waiting for a long time, Virbal did not come. Again the king sent a soldier to ask. When the soldier reached there, Virbal was still cooking. When the soldier asked Birbal, Birbal gave the same answer and sent him back. Hearing the same message again, the king decided to go to Birbal himself and left the meeting. The king reached there and was surprised to see the way Birbal had cooked the food.
Viirbal buried three long bamboos in the ground, tied the top three ends of the bamboo together, hung a pot soaked in rice and lit a fire in the ground below.
The king asked Virbal, "Virbal, how long has it been since you started cooking?"
Virbal said "Well! I didn't know, sir, it has already started." The king touched the pot with his hand, but the pot was cold. The roar of the fire below had not even reached that level.
The king said “Veerbal! You are being stupid. The roar of the fire below has not reached Kasaudi. How is your rice cooked?"
Birbal replied, "If the lamp on the other side of the hill can take heat from the budo sitting in that pond, then this pot can also take it." Isn't it, sir?"
Akbar finally understood. That old man could not take that heat, instead of giving a gift, he gave a punishment instead.
Akbar admitted his mistake in front of the entire Raj Sabha and awarded the Budo with an additional reward.
The paragraph tells a story about a clever minister named Birbal, who served King Akbar. The King organized a competition in which people had to stay in a pool filled with cold water during the winter months, and the winner would receive a big prize. An old man won the competition by staying in the pool the longest, and when questioned by the King, he revealed that he was able to do so by looking at a light on the hill. King Akbar accused the old man of cheating and punished him. Virbal, who was upset about the King's unjust treatment of the old man, devised a plan to teach the King a lesson. When the King went to Virbal's house to find out why he had not attended a meeting, he saw that Birbal had cooked rice using a similar technique to the old man. This made the King realize his mistake, and he admitted it in front of the entire Raj Sabha and awarded the old man with an additional reward.
