The Chant of Metta

The Metta chant, also known as the Loving-kindness chant, is a traditional Buddhist chant that expresses the wish for all beings to be happy and safe. The chant typically goes something like this:

"May all beings be happy and safe,
May all beings be healthy and strong,
May all beings live with ease,
May all beings be at peace."

The chant can be repeated multiple times and the focus can be on different groups of beings each time, such as oneself, loved ones, all beings in the world, etc. The intention behind the Metta chant is to cultivate love, compassion, and kindness for all living beings, including oneself and others. It is often used as a form of meditation, helping to focus the mind and promote positive emotions. The Metta chant is considered an important tool for promoting inner peace, compassion, and positivity.
