Jackson Mahomes arrested, booked into Johnson County jail on sexual battery warrant
A warrant for aggravated sexual battery was issued against Jackson Mahomes, who is a 23-year-old social media influencer and the brother of Kansas City Chief's quarterback Patrick Mahomes. On Wednesday morning, Jackson Mahomes was arrested by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and taken into custody at the Johnson County jail, as per the booking report. The booking took place at 7:42 a.m. after the arrest at 7 a.m. Currently, he is being held on a bond of $100,000.
The booking report listed an upcoming arraignment for Jackson Mahomes scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. However, the details of the case were not yet available from the Johnson County District Court. According to the police, an investigation was previously launched on Feb. 25 following an incident involving Mahomes at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge near West 151st Street and Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park. Mahomes is accused of assaulting a 19-year-old male waiter and forcibly kissing the 40-year-old female owner of the establishment in two separate incidents.
According to restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn, the police are currently reviewing surveillance videos from the night of the incident as part of their investigation. Meanwhile, an attorney representing Jackson Mahomes has maintained his innocence and claimed that he did not engage in any wrongdoing.
In early March, Jackson Mahomes' attorney, Brandan Davies of Roth Davies LLC, stated that their investigation revealed significant evidence that disputes the allegations made by Jackson's accuser, including the statements of multiple witnesses. In an email response on Wednesday, Davies declined to comment further on the matter, citing a court order that prohibits the defendant and lawyers from making any statements about the case. Davies has previously stated that they have shared the findings of their investigation with law enforcement officials to provide a comprehensive understanding of the situation.
